Cardiovascular Risk

Cardiovascular risk assessment is given as a percentage of your risk of having a heart attack within in the next 10 years.

Several important risk factors are examined such as:

  • Total Cholesterol
  • HDL (High Density Lipoprotein; also known as “good”) cholesterol
  • Systolic blood pressure reading
  • Your age and additional factors such as whether you are a smoker, diabetic or have hypertension.

This is an important set that should not be avoided.

When it comes to cardiovascular disease prevention knowledge is power. The risk factors, once identified, are highly reversible through non evasive lifestyle adjustments which we are happy to advise on.
